Little Miss Home Maker

Last night hubby was working until 7:30pm so from the time I got off work at 4pm I had some time to kill. Please note what you are about to read is the making of "wife of the year"...

So first of all I took my hubby's truck to the shop on Friday to get command start installed (my mom bought him command start for his birthday) so I was going to surprise him with the installation for his Christmas gift. They called as I was driving home to let me know that his truck was ready (there were a few other mishaps and hiccups along the way such as Friday I had to wait over an hour to get a ride to work and then they called to tell me miscellaneous pieces of his truck were about to fall off and threw a lot of numbers at me for the price to fix said falling pieces... I figured I'd really like my hubby to remain living while driving his truck so best to fix it all!) So last night the dealership sent a cab to get me since I wanted to get the truck home without telling hubby! So once I was home with the renovated wheels I decided to start cooking. Tonight's menu consisted of Butternut Squash Ravioli (from Costco) it not only tastes amazing but looks amazing!!

I couldn't think of what to put on this ravioli as tomato sauce didn't seem to be fitting well with butternut squash. So I messaged my good friend and chef extraordinaire Britt! She gave me some tips and I was off to the races.

I decided to go with a pumpkin puree sauce (and thankfully we have pumpkin puree on hand in case the dogs get sick - did you know that mixing in some pumpkin with white rice makes a puppy's tummy smile? Just a little tip for next time your pooch is under the weather!)

I also made a mixed green salad, and sweet chili pan crusted fish!

Before I knew it, it was 7:20pm and I raced out the door to pick up Hubby in his brand new (OK newly reno'd) wheels! Hubby was so excited about the truck so when we got home he was in pure heaven and proclaimed I was in fact WIFE OF THE YEAR and this was one of the top 5 meals ever! :)
