And then there were 2...

Remember how I told you about my friend C and Steven Tyler in my post Reality TV or Real Life! And I said I would update you? Well she did go to his concert in Edmonton - she hung out with him back stage before he went on to perform and as a thank you she had given Steven some jewellery.  You see she's a Stella & Dot Stylist! As many of you may already know Steven Tyler is a new judge on American Idol and in his interview in this video he is STILL sporting the S & D vintage twist bracelets she gave him backstage before the concert!!!!

And then there were 2... only two days left in the work week... and only 2 business partners in my wedding and event planning business. Our third backed out before we even really hit the ground running. In retrospect it is for the best, and things ended on very good terms.

This week has been FLYING by, I've been so busy with networking meetings for our wedding and event planning business! They've all been going so well.  We are really hitting the ground running.  We have been seeing more interest on our facebook page, so if you're reading this blog please "like" us on facebook and "follow" us on twitter!

Someone has even requested employment within our company! We aren't exactly at that stage yet but it feels good to know people would like to work for us! We hope to launch our website next week and we have a photo shoot on Saturday to get some new shots for our site. It's all so exciting! Stay tuned...

Why can't every day be Saturday!?

It was a GOOD GOOD weekend!! I went to bed early both nights and I'm now feeling much better.  Saturday morning I got up even earlier then planned.  My hubby was working nights and whenever he gets home we like to chat for about 30 minutes because it may be the only time we have for each other that day.  So I roll over to try to get back to sleep and that was it, 8am on Saturday morning, and I'm wide awake ready for the day.

So I decided to make some more berry crumble for the week - its what I've been eating for breakfast most days... okay sometimes lunch too! I LOVE IT!! If you want me to post the recipe let me know! Its healthy and so so yummy!!!  I added a few of my own little extras in like Flax Seed and Fibre!

I used frozen berries!
most of the ingredients!

I forgot to take a picture before I dove into it! YUM!
After my little homemaker escapades I went and picked up my BFF aka the Bride to be and we went shopping!!! It was an eventful day from baby clothes shopping (for our friends latest addition) to BM (bridesmaid) dress shopping to a sushi lunch break! It was one of those super fun Saturdays!

Then I went home and hung out with my hubby before he had to take off for work! So since I was alone yet again I went out with my BFF for the second time (you see her fiance works shift work too and he also happened to be working nights! Convenient? Very!) and we went to visit our friend who recently had a baby boy! He's so cute. We had Thai for dinner, so it was a very ethnic day... but probably way too much eating out according to that article I posted Food, Weight, Ugh ohhh well the wedding is over!!! hahaha

My Sunday was pretty uneventful, I was literally trying to find things to do. So I finished a scrap book for my other friend who also just had a baby boy in July! I did laundry and walked the dogs. Oh ya and we got our Wedding Thank you cards so I spent some time writing out thank yous until my writing started to get messy and I knew that was a sign I was done! Then I went out for supper with my Mom, Grandma and Great Aunty - yes that's right I went OUT for dinner AGAIN! Technically I ate out for 8 days in a row! SHAME on me! But don't worry I am going to the gym today! ...and eating left overs for lunch...lol!

My play by play for the week looks like this:

Monday: gym at noon, hang out with my hubby tonight since we've barely seen each other lately!

Tuesday: Fittings at noon (I have a photo shoot Saturday and we get to borrow clothes for FREE!) then hang out with my business partner and her husband! He is going through the police hiring process and my hubby and her hubby are BESTIES! So they need to rehash how the polygraph went (IE. lie detector!)

Wednesday: Lunch with my business partner and a local Make Up Artist to discuss potential business partnership and marketing ideas for her business and our wedding and event planning business! Then I will go to the gym in the evening with my hubby! We won 14 day passes to Gold's Gym!

Thursday: gym at noon! Meeting with a local wedding photographer to discuss business/marketing opportunities!

Friday: gym at noon and hopefully a low key night with my hubby!

Saturday: Photo shoot for our website!! And then my friend is having a sushi and martini making party!!!! FUN!

Sunday: Hosting a baby shower with my BFF for our friend that just had the baby boy!! I am also supposed to run in the 5KM CIBC Run for The Cure! hmmm I've raised quite a bit of money and that's all that counts right? I will run it on my own time... I promise!

Before I go I have to talk about TLC's new show "Sister Wives"

WOW!!!!!!!!!!! I am HOOKED!

It is absolutely fascinating to see how they live. I could NEVER share my man but they honestly made some valid points in raising their children and if anything were to happen to one of the sister wives they know their children would be taken care of... okay that's comforting yes, but is that worth sharing your husband!? NOT TO ME! That's what family and friends are for.

Meri talked about her jealousy issues and I just thought OF COURSE you are jealous, how could you not be? We are human and this Sister Wives concept is CRAZY town! Why is there no "Brother Husbands"? I'll tell you why, because women do all the work and having more husbands would only equal more work for the one wifey! lol but why can't the sister wives get more husbands? That would only seem fair? Just a bunch of swingers cohabitating and raising children? Seems better then just one man getting as many wives as he wants. So he gets bored, he gets another wife... what about the women? Their stuck with this one man and have no other choices! NOT so fair!

But seriously these peligs were interesting in that they do marry for love. Not arranged/forced marriages like most of us main streamers would assume peligs are forced into those situations and I also respected that they were open to their children choosing their future relationships the way they wanted... whether it was a traditional marriage or a pelig marriage. I also found it entertaining their pelig lingo "Sister from the same Mister" and "Brother from another Mother" LITERALLY!!!!!!! oh and all 12 peliglettes!! The Pelig talk was hilarious! And now their are bringing in the 4th wife which is going to be so much drama I CAN NOT wait!

Robyn is the new and 4th sister wife... she's clearly the hottest of them all... Kody's thought process "so one or two of my wives gets fat, ah hell I'll just get a new hotter one!"

The Big City

I've been in the big city for the last 5 days! It was INCREDIBLY busy with meetings and getting my designation.  It's also been a ton of fun - a lot more fun then I expected to have.  Day 1 I came in on the Sunday night flight so I could have the full day for meetings Monday.  My flight got delayed a little so it was a late night with the time change and travel time to my hotel.  Monday was a LONG day... from meetings to a reception social to a late night dinner meeting... the day's biggest highlight was probably my graceful and elegant tubble. Now when most people fall its generally due to a trip... and when they go down they usually instinctively put their hands out, maybe even fall to their knees first. Well not me, ladies and gentlemen... oh no when I fall apparently I like to a) fall for no reason at all and b) fall straight down straight. Sort of like the domino effect.  Except I didn't trip over anything, I wasn't pushed nor did I even manage to put my hands out... oh no I just fell straight down, didn't bend a knee or anything.  So my hip bones took the worst of the fall.  The saddest part about it was I hadn't even been drinking, it was middle of the day!!

The week flew by, 12-16 hour days were the norm, hence why I haven't posted anything. I have barely even had a chance to sit down. On my flight home last night I began to get a sore throat and then the sniffles came... I'm not sure if you've ever flown and been seated right next to "that sick person" All I know is I probably should've been wearing a mask.  I went through two packages of Kleenex! Ugh!

Last night when I got home my hubby and I had our pick of shows
to watch! We went with Modern Family first. Its one of our favs! I don't even know if I can pick a favorite character because they are all so funny for so many different reasons!

Then we watched America's Next Top Model! I have a few favorites this cycle!
Jane

Krista - Cycle 14 winner

Krista - you just won last season! Why are you competing again in Cycle 15?

Kayla

I know they are looking for very high fashion since the winner will be featured in Italian Vogue.  Jane is one of my favorites, I love her square face! She's stunning. Kayla is another favorite of mine! She's a lesbian and didn't let that interfear with her photoshoot! Ann is killing it right now and I know she could totally win it but I hope that there's some shocking surprises along the way! There always is!

Ann

Now its already Friday and I'm done work for the week! Friday is always one of the best days of the week! Tonight I have a meeting with my small business partners - we have a ton of work to get done for the upcoming Bridal trade show next month. I know we can do it! We have to! The trade show is exactly one month from today! Time is ticking...

Tomorrow I have plans with my bestie for a "MOH BRIDE" day.  You see my MOH is now the Bride and I am now the MOH! It's very exciting!!! In a little over 5 months from now we will be heading to Mexico for her destination wedding.  Tomorrow we are going to look at bridesmaid dresses, go for sushi, and catch up on life and just talk wedding! I can't wait!

BB12

Remember how I said I was late for work yesterday? Well that really put a wrench in my whole days plans... you see I was planning to get home by 4pm yesterday so my hubby and I could watch BB12 season finale before he had to go guard and protect the City's heart.  I had to stay a little later at work to make up for being late... none the less I made it home and we did get to watch the season finale of BB12... it did not disappoint!

First of all I loved how Brenchel HAD to share a love seat in the final jury meeting! All the other jurors had individual chairs... really Brenchel? You can't stand to be apart for a single second?

So it was down to the final 2 and as you know I wanted Lane to win so he could sweep Britney off her feet (and away from this guy...her alleged fiancee "Nick"!)

It was A LOT closer then I expected, the votes came down to a 3 - 3 split and Enzo made the deciding vote... Hayden won... womp womp womp... BUT Lane did win 50G's and my girl Brit won the people's choice!!! YAY!! Enzo was fuming!! Ha-HA! He totally thought he had it in the bag!

I'd just like to recap on my fav moments of BB12! Numero UNO favorite moment was Brit's impersonation of the NeanderTAL:

I can't tell you how many times we watched this on replay!

Deux: Easily was Regan's verbal judo attack on Rachel! Oh ya, the Prof of Communications strikes again!

Three: Kristen and Rachels dual in the boxing ring! I can NEVER get over Kristen's hand slapping gestures and FACIAL expressions! HAHAHA! Lane's just enjoying the moment!

Interesting observation from this photo... why are Brendon's arms wrapped under Britney's legs? And Enzo's got his greasy lil paws all over her too for that matter? Rachel, how mad are you right now?

I would bet this mad -->

The rest of my night was not that eventful - my business partner and I did inventory! So as sad as it may be, Big Brother Season 12 finale was the high light of my day!

Food, Weight, Ugh

Like I mentioned in my post "The Weekend"  my hubby and I have not been sticking to any type of meal plans or even remotely trying to eat right... is this what marriage does? I joked on our honeymoon that I was going to let myself go and get fat now that the wedding was over, but I didn't actually mean it!

Last night I finally went to the grocery store and loaded up on healthy foods (extra lean chicken, lots of fish, and lots of produce - fruits and veggies) so we could finally start our healthy eating diet!! I should clarify that I hate the word diet.  I believe that fad diets, in the end, only make you fatter then you were to start! I saw it on Dr.Phil once okay? He said that you may cut weight on a fad diet at first but fad diets generally aren't something you can maintain long term and then once you cave and go back to your old ways (because you're little fad diet got you all skinny) you're body will gain the weight back and then some! You'll be fatter than you were before you started the latest and greatest diet! So don't do it okay!? With that being said we are not "dieting" we are just choosing to eat healthy foods rather than junk food EVERY day (I'm not kidding since the wedding it's been down hill and that was over a month ago!) So in our attempt to get back into a routine I stubbled across this article this morning:

6 reasons why you're overweight  ... yes because I need someone to tell me...

1. You're not sleeping enough - well I know this isn't the issue for me! Especially today, I woke up to my hubby coming home from his night shift at 7:10am! I let him in and he says what're you doing? I looked at him like? WTF do you think honey bee I'm sleeping!? THEN I clued in... umm why? What time is it? Oh 7:10am... SHIT! I work at 7am.  Not good.

None the less most nights I get at least 8 hours so this is not a valid excuse for weight gain!

2. You eat out too often - lately yes... what are you spying on me?

3. You over indulge on weekends - touche...ummm yes, that was evident by last weekend's mishaps. ugh!

4. Your food portions are too large - hmmm possible but I don't think so.  Which got me thinking what is the right portion?
I found this article that has 8 ways to reduce your portions!
5. You're drinking extra calories - not the case - I generally only drink water or green tea.  Oh wait, but lately I have been drinking more pop! We had it left over from the wedding! Ugh time to chuck those in the trash!

6. You're not reading food labels correctly - quite possible, I usually just look at the calories! haha... I need to pay attention to the fat, sugar and sodium!!!!

So while I was writing this I realized I hadn't eaten breakfast yet (and that's the most important meal of the day!) I grabbed my banana and there was this cute and clever little sticker on it that said "Buy a Bunch Lose a Bunch" and the website url: fruits.com

This instantly made me feel good about my choice to eat a banana! Especially after I visited the site and found out I could also WIN A BUNCH! Sign me up!
Food, weight, body image seem to be a never ending battle for most people, especially women and I'm one of them! Which reminds me of a question a good friend of mine asked me "If you could do anything you wanted in the world and there were no consequences. What would you do?" My answer was EASY! Eat whatever I want, whenever I want without gaining a pound.

Why can't we all just look like this without trying?

A Dog's Life

Could you imagine the life of a dog? I often think I'd love to come back as a dog to a good owner (a loving owner like me & my hubby!) Dogs don't have to work, worry about money, buy groceries, cook or clean. No they just get to lay around have their meals served, have someone to pick up after them, and love them.  Hmmm can I have that life please?

Our two dogs are spoiled little babies...

Miss Bojangles aka Bobo.  Bobo was born April 21st, 2008 and we picked up our little bundle of joy June 12, 2008.  She was 8 weeks old and only 5 pounds at the time but we knew we got a fiesty one.  The little pig was elbowing boxers out of her way so she could get some of their mom's milk! I kid you not we had to pull her off of that Mama Boxer. On our drive home from the farm we would stop every couple of hours so she could have a bathroom break, on one of these stops there was a hurd of cows just a few feet away.  Bobo decided she could take on 10, 15, 20 cows? Why not...it'd be easy!  The little thing went tearing towards them!  Barking at these cows CLEARLY showing them who was boss. SURE Bobo... ten 2400 pound cows are really scared of you right now. She has and always will be the alpha dog.  Now that the little miss is 2 and a half she has become a little more cuddly of a dog. But nothing compares to our other dog; Rocky.

Rocky was born May 24, 2008. Just a month after our first born little Miss Bobo.  You're probably wondering how we ended up with Rocky? Me too, I still wonder to this day! haha  Well my wonderful husband (he was actually my boy friend at the time - which now sounds odd to say) was working nights and got the idea into his head that Bobo needed a friend.  He found Rocky on the internet looking way too cute for words! So of course when I woke up to find this cute little mug staring me in the face I had to say yes.  Even at the CRAZY price tag of $2,500.  That's right, no one said French Bulldogs were cheap...especially ones with European blood lines and papers. 2 years later I think he still might be on my credit card? None the less, not even 3 months after we brought home Bobo we had the breeder ship our little boy to us via air. We were proud parents of Mr. Rocky Balboa. Now, Rocky boy has never been the alpha, he did put up a good fight when we first brought him home but Bobo is the biggest alpha dog I've ever encountered. So those battles to take over the title never did end well.  We got them fixed and Rocky contently settled in to his beta dog role. Essentially letting Bobo run his show. He's fine with it okay? He's a mama's boy and definitely my little sucky cuddle bug.

Dreams

Do you remember your dreams? Have you ever had a dream where you're doing something in your dream and then physically carried that out in real life? Sleep walking and sleep talking are one thing, but I mean whatever you're dreaming you are actually doing but don't even realize it!? I've had many dreams where I wake up and think thank GAWD I didn't do that and it was just a dream. I'm a vivid dreamer and usually they are WILD and crazy dreams.  But before last night I had never physically carried out anything that I was dreaming before... sure I talk A LOT in my sleep but last night I was dreaming about taking off my rings and then was freaking out because I couldn't find them. I woke up and and didn't think much of the dream until I found my beautiful engagement ring laying in the bed, and my wedding band was put on upside down...

Weird? Scary? YA! It freaked me out but then I remembered hearing a story about a man in the UK who actually killed his wife in his sleep! I'm not kidding. Read this article:

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article6925322.ece

"Brian Thomas, 59, dreamt that intruders had broken into the couple’s camper van, and then killed his wife Christine while in a state known as automatism."

The sad part is he really didn't mean to (because there really are so many sick people who actually want to murder their wives) and thankfully in this case the jury let him walk free.  Can you imagine the guilt he'll have to live with for the rest of his life? I think that's worse than any jail time.

I hope my automatism doesn't turn into more than just taking off my rings in my sleep!! Hubby maybe you should sleep with one eye open!

Reality TV or Real Life!

First I have to apologize for all the spelling mistakes in my last post... the hubby got home and I didn't have time to even click spell check, I just jumped the gun and hit post so I could go spend some QT with my main squeeze!

Reality TV:
Last night was the season finale of ABC's The Bachelor Pad.  I have to say I loved this show. It was so full of drama, Elizabeth's screw loose ways, little miss Disney prancing around and hot hot people. It's one of those shows you know you shouldn't be watching but you can't help it.  It's like a train wreck that you can't peel your eyes from. I also found it to be more "real" then the usual Bachelor/Bachelorette shows... no one was getting married after only 6 weeks of the most unreal fantasy land dates.  So last night was the season finale of this new amazing show... first of all was the dance off. I'm also a fan of DWTS so I loved the combination of shows. It was no coincidence that the hottest DWTS dancer Edyta Sliwinska was paired up with Kovacs and crazy town Ms. Kitt! The producers of this show are smart - let's pair up people that will create the most drama = success! It was entertaining to watch Elizabeth loose her marbles over Edyta's smokin hot bod and how she kept rubbing it all over Jesse Kovacs! I had to agree that Edyta was all over Jesse and he was NOT the least bit unhappy about it!

And then they pair up Tenley and Kiptyn with Chelsea Hightower - who just so happened to be Jake's dance partner on last season's DWTS... there was no drama there but the show tried effortlessly to create drama any way they could.  Which is why Jake was one of the 3 judges... awkward! But Tenley handled it like a champ... 1. Jake should've chosen you Ten, but 2. you are WAY better off with Kiptyn - he's hotter, cooler, nicer, just better. So good job girl! Then came the vote off, I loved seeing everyone together again confronting each other after watching the season air... Michelle - you're crazy, you did hook up with Craig. Tenley merely stated the facts, deal with it. Wes and Gia, that won't last.  She's a swimsuit model who's been with major league baseball players - come on Wes you're just Gia's latest it thing to gain more publicity and fame.  Juan - what are you even talking about? Tenley was a competitor she won more challenges then 3/4 of the people in that house. You're 37 and should be quiet now! Just shhhhh... And then finally the cast voted for Dave and Nat over KipTEN ;)... they had to deliberate over what to do, share or keep...SHARE OR KEEP! This got me and my hubby talking ... what would you do? I was appalled to learn he would say KEEP! I said if that was ME your wife you would say KEEP? He quickly corrected himself that he would've only said keep if he were in that same situation that Dave was with Natalie. Hmmm, sure bud. You're true colors are beginning to show! Anyways...Nat REALLY played it up well at the end there, I thought omg is she really going to sewer Dave and keep it all?

Real Life:
When I got to work this morning I got this video in an email: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_F2md4uGmMU  and after I watched that one I had to watch the next one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6D6eP6EMj4 as a newly wed it just made me laugh...guys are really stupid 90% of the time! hahaha.  As a marketing guru it made me appreciate the clever ad campaign that JC Penny's Jewelry store came up with.

Real Life:

Now I HAVE to tell you about my gf C... this past weekend she went to a movie with none other than... Steven Tyler himself! I kid you not. Look at this picture, my gf is the blond one...

Okay so their both blond!!! hahaha gotcha! But no she's really the one in the blue sweater... hahaha... okay but for real, C is the one on the left.  She didn't just meet Stevie boy, oh no she went to a movie with him and his band and then C and her gf (the other blond - I don't know her) they went back to his suite and jammed out on the piano together! I know you're probably thinking "jammed" is a code word for our favorite three letter word... but its not! She says he was nice and friendly and really didn't get creepy. So today they are off to the concert - Stevie hooked them up with side line primo seating and back stage passes.  Mr. Tyler himself also said he's going to get them up on stage to dance when he sings "Walk This Way." The boys (aka old men haha) also hooked them up with a hotel room where they are staying so they are going to hang out after and stay the night! Now I know that part sounds kind of creepy but she says their intentions are harmless - its like hanging out with her Dad!? Hmmm I don't think so C... most Dads don't try to hook up with their daughters.  And if they do, they need to be put in jail immediately - HUBBY this is where you come in! Arrest these men! ;)  hahaha!

Random thought of the day 1: Do you ever wish you had never learnt how to read? LOL what I mean by this is... every time you look at something you are reading what it says even if you don't want to, you can't stop yourself. Some times I just don't want to read but my mind just does it.  Now I realize it doesn't take a lot of effort because it becomes second nature but there's some days where I think about the fact that I'm constantly reading..."that billboard was a waste of my time... give me those 2 seconds back!" Now I hope I'll have you all thinking the same thing! Or maybe not and I'm just a looney bin! hahahaha

Alright off to my meeting!

The weekend

Well it feels good to have my first post under my belt! I figure I should do one more today... a recap of the weekend!! But first you may be wondering why I'm not at my alpha course... well that would be due to the fact that after the gym today I started to feel dizzy, light headed, couldn't see so I immdiately worried that I was about to have a migraine (I should clarify that I have only had about 4 in my life...but both my parents get them so I knew my time was coming. GREAT thanks Mom and Dad.)

I thought maybe it was because I didn't eat anything all day and then had a fairly intense work out (in which my asthma also acted up a bit, not a full attack but some trouble breathing! I'm in perfect health really... lol today was not my day!) so when I got back to work I really started to feel it, my right temple felt like a thousand little construction workers were hammering away trying to find gold - I was trying to tell them there's really nothing THAT valuable in there and to PLEASE leave me alone because I have work to do! But then I experienced the nausea, and realized my light sensitivity was the auras!! I had to jet home as quick as possible to get into my cold, dark room. I had a 2 hour nap with my pooches who didn't really want to sleep because why would they? Mama was home so they thought that meant play time "let's jump on Mama's head" yessss because that's exactly what a person suffering a migraine needs! I thought dogs were supposed to be able to sense when someone is sick? I still love em!

Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Rocky & Bobo

So back to my weekend recap...

Friday night: I got home from work (after an intense work out at lunch which I was feeling so great about) the hubby was on days off so he picked us up some healthy subs (all veggie for me) and it was a kick start to a great weekend - 3 days in a row of good work outs.
  • Wednesday night we went to an MMA class - Mixed Martial Arts

It was an amazing work out in this guys garage... I know it sounds sketchy, but it was amazing!! Oh and we didn't actually fight eachother.  The work out was MMA style moves! So good!

  • Thursday I went to my weights class, a little sore from my MMA class I put the pain aside and I crushed my work out!!!
  • Friday morning I could barely walk, but I knew my cardio bootcamp class would be good for me.  I go to the gym at noon every day with a few co-workers. One of them being the president of our company, he even noticed that I kicked my work out into high gear! Apparently I was running faster than a high speed rail train!! Just lapping people left and right!
So anyways back to my weekend... I was feeling really good about my work outs and even my healthy late lunch with my hubby... until about 10pm hit.  You see, we decided to stay in and have a relaxing evening together since those are few and far between.  Well my hubby says... I want some chips, come with me to the store. I said noooo I don't want chips.  He says come on... get something with me. We'll start our diet healthy eating on Monday. So then SOMEONE gets the idea of Mickey D's in their mind... as much as I'd love to blame the hubby on this one... it was actually my idea! That's right, after 3 days of perfect eating and great work outs I wanted this:
Don't you want one? I know... they are impossible to resist! TRUST ME!

So we had our lil cheat meal... and Saturday morning comes along and I'm feeling guilty of course for my Quarter ponder meal so I head to the gym for spin and step class.  Another amazing work out and I head home to get ready for our friends "ROCKSTAR" themed 25th birthday party!! We got decked out and headed to the party... now this was the real cheat day, good food (good food always means unhealthy lol) and booze = way too many calories to count! So we rocked the night away and at the end of the night my hubby sees those damn golden arches.  So I say you get something I'm too full.  Well of course when he's ordering I decide its impossible to watch him eat it without getting something myself... so what I'd get? Just take a guess... a new picture isn't even necessary because it was the exact same meal I had just 24 hours prior! Nice, I know!

So Sunday rolls around and we HAD to have been the laziest human beings alive. Now I know you don't know me, but I'm normally not one to sit around and do nothing... so it actually felt incredible to do just that ALL DAY and ALL Night!! Here's a recap of what took place....
10am - woke up in our movie theatre room to our contractor who is working on finishing the rest of our basement... he needed some measurements... all I have to say is thank gawd for the big curtain he hung to spare our theatre room of dust and contractor crap because newly weds aren't exactly dressed for  company if you know what I mean.  So he left and we watched:

1. Slumdog Millionaire: amazing film! Obviously it killed it at the 2009 Oscars.  But I don't know if I'd call this a typical "feel-good" film.  I mean sure the ending is great but all along you aren't feeling that great. At least not as good as the next film we watched.

2. The Bounty Hunter: now this is what I call my "don't have to think" movie. I went through a phase where those were the only types of movies I ever wanted to watch.  It was a stressful time at work and thinking was the last thing I wanted to do. Anyways this movie was exactly that, cute, fun, easy to watch, predictable ending.  A definite "renter" - ie. don't pay $12 to see this in the  theatre but if you need a little pick me up on a rainy day - put this one in! Its bound to make you feel good!

3. Brothers: this movie is NOT any time of a feel good/non thinking movie. Its moving, and intriguing.  It made us question "what would you do this that situation."  And I can't say I'm sure, but I don't think I would've killed anyone (if I were Sam), nor would I ever hook up with my brother in law (if I were Grace.)  However I was frustrated in how Sam could not open up when he returned... communication is the key to a healthy relationship.  Now I understand that war is not an easy situation to experience let alone talk about. But he needed to open up to his wife. If he couldn't open up to her, he would lose her...maybe not to his brother Tommy but just in general. Overall I enjoyed this movie. I understand that Sam killed Private Joe only to survive in order to make it home to his wife and daughters and that was what was so heart breaking about the fact that he kept pushing them away.  The ending was open... which I never like because then I can't stop thinking what happened to the characters.  Did he get out of the psych ward? Did their marriage make it through? What was Tommy doing? Did he really love Grace? Too many questions left unanswered!!

So I know we watched three movies, but we weren't done with that 50" plasma yet... we opted for one of my "business research" shows!

4. Four Weddings on TLC: I love this show for so many reasons.  I love to see how different each bride is in their wedding day vision.  I love to see the different ideas and concepts people come up with.  I love to see the other brides discuss each others weddings! I also love how each bride thinks their wedding is the best and that they'll definitely win! I decided why this is... as a Bride your day is all about you (and your groom) and everyone you know who loves you and cares for you is there.  So how could you not have an amazing time and think its the best ever? I find it incredible interesting to see the perspective of an outsider - who doesn't even know you - comes to your special day and judges everything about it.  When they say they have  fun you know its a good wedding because they don't know a soul and can still have a great time. Lots of times I think the other brides are just flat out b*tches and down right mean.  But hey, that's what makes for great TV!!

 5. Big Brother Season 12: We watched this episode and were sadly disappointed that it was simply a recap ep! BUT I will say I love this season.  Brittany is my favorite, yes she's fake to everyones face, makes fun of people behind their back and probably that girl you hated in high school... but let's face it.  She's funny!! And I know she's engaged and being a newly wed I should support her engagement more than anyone, but is it wrong that I want her and Lane to hook up more than anything? So now that it's the final three I have to say my favorite is Lane... I find him entertaining, a bit of a red neck hick who isn't the sharpest tool in the shed but pure entertainment.  Hayden is ok... I think he could use the money more than Lane.  And Enzo is pretty funny jersey boy! And we finally got to see his wife - um ya, Enzo you did well!  Congrats. She's smokin hot AND she just had a baby. Not fair, but well done bud!

Okay last and final show of the night... one of my all time favs...
6. True Blood: rumor has it this was the season finale! If it was I'm sad, only because I'm obsessed with this show and I can't wait until JUNE 2011 for season 4! We own Season 1, so we may need to buy season 2 to have a True Blood marathon.  Sookie is amazing, she essentially has 3 guys into her, Bill - who's gotta go, so happy she finally kicked him to the curb! Eric Northman - hottie, obsessed!! However he hasn't treated her THE best... still want them to hook up! And finally our new werewolf... he's a keeper!! I am dying to know where this show will go now.  Each episode ends on a cliff hanger and I LOVE it!! I need more of it!!

Well that was the end of our movie night... oh wait except my hubby did watch 40 year old Virgin has we went to bed, but I was out like a light within the first few minutes!! If that's not a movie/TV marathon I don't know what is!!

Anyways my hubby just got home from work so I am off to... _____ watch TV? haha I'll leave you with that cliff hanger!

My first ever Blog post

Alright so this is my first ever blog post... like I said, I am mostly doing this blog as sort of an online diary - a way to track what goes on in my life and just as an expression of my take on the world.  So I will start out this post like I do every Monday morning with my weekly "Play by Play" that I usually email to one or two of my close friends...

My Play by Play is essentially an overview of my week to come... so here goes nothing.

Monday: Work (of course... I work Monday-Friday which I think is too often. Well at least too regimented for me - my ideal work day would be this: wake up whenever I want, get to work and work would be play and therefore not feel like work. But none the less I am here (and clearly working hard! haha) at noon I will head to the gym for cardio bootcamp class, its time to get out of my honeymoon slump and get back into working out and eating right! I have the working out part down... its the eating right part that's REALLY hard!

After work today I have a "come and see" Aplha course... all I know is its a course offered through our church to learn more about the bible scriptures! So I will let you know more tomorrow what I learn at the come and see!

Tuesday: work - you can guess how I'm feeling about that. Noon: body blast class, after work - meeting with a local DJ (actually he was our DJ at our wedding and has some of my stuff I desperately need back) we are also going to discuss some business opportunities...because like I said in my about me section I have recently started a business (Wedding and Event Planning) and its time to kick it into high gear and start booking some weddings!

Wednesday: work, spin at lunch and then no solid plans yet - most likely just hang out with my hubby... oh no wait, he's working nights! :( This is the life of a cop wife.

Thursday: work, weights class at lunch and business meeting with my business partner in the evening - we are doing inventory (exciting!)

Friday: work, cardio bootcamp at lunch and no plans for the evening - hopefully take it easy with my hubby!

Saturday: my brother in law turns 25 and for this quarter century milestone he figures paintballing is the thing to do! I've never done it before, and I'm not going to lie...I'm terrified! 1. I don't want welts and bruises all over my body... and 2. well there is no two, that's really all I'm scared of = the pain! But I'm hoping I can look something like this:

So after paint ball... I also have one of my girlfriends 25th birthday parties the SAME day... what are the chances!!? So I am going to rush home shower up (hopefully won't have too many welts to cover up!) and head over for some drinks with the girls... then later I need to make my way back to my brother in law's house for his house party! I am going to try to convince the two parties to merge.... we'll see how successful I am at this.

Sunday: my brother in law decided one day of celebrations is just not going to cut it, so he's arranged horseback riding. I am much more enthusiastic about this party day... but just my luck I am not going to be able to participate!!!! It just so happens that I have a flight to catch (I'm off next week to the big city for meetings and to get my industry specific designation...) It just kills me to miss out on the fun... and to know that my hubby and his fam will be having too much fun and he'll probably be looking like this...
