Unofficial kick off to summer

May Long Weekend the unofficial Kick off to Summer... it's always raining (or snowing) on May Long weekend. This year was no exception. It rained and rained. But it wasn't the worst weather we've ever had so I wasn't complaining!

Friday night we went to Creek Bistro for this gal's 25th!

Followed by cake and a glass of vino with our friend the Doctor!

Saturday morning we packed up and headed out to the lake. Hub had to load a hot tub up at his parents first and I dropped this crazy off at my mom's for a sleep over at Grandma's and play date with Minnie.
Look at him getting along with another dog besides Bobo. This is UNHEARD of. But it happened.

We then went to the Boon's campsite at Echo to pick them up to come out to our cottages. The boys did some heavy lifting replacing the cracked hot tub with the new one at the in law's cabin, we hung out with the fam, talked, laughed and had some din din. Then we went back to my family's cottage and played bolder dash with the Boon's! So much fun!

Sunday we relaxed at the lake, the sun came out and we did some more heavy lifting. The in laws are making the sand pit area bigger!

Monday Hubby and I did a lot from gardening, laundry, cleaning to some more antiquing... we found an antique shop that is closing down and we've been getting the best deals there. 80% off everything = cheap stuff. It's been great for the business as well, finding lots of great vintage finds for our styled engagement shoot we are planning next month. Here are some of our finds:

Boot shot glasses and mug! Hello, who wouldn't love these? They go perfectly with our western and "Pistols" bar theme!

We plan to use these Crush bottles in the engagement shoot with little signs like "I have a" and "My" in front of the bottle! Get it!?

This frame was $2... that's right, two whole dollars!

Then we went to see this flick:
Bridesmaids Movie Poster

I LOVED IT! It's definitely going to be a buyer!! I died! My fav's were:

But really they were all great!
Tonight my business partner in crime Cass and I are going back to the antique shop to scout more finds and then I have a hair appointment (getting a glossy treatment - it's like a deep conditioning gloss to keep my hair really moisturized, my hair is always SO dry!) and then just pack and get ready to leave bright and early for Stoon in the am. I am off for broker meetings (Wednesday and Friday) and a golf tournament (Thursday).   Then home later Friday afternoon and no real plans for Friday night yet that I know of.  Hubby is in this motorcycle course all weekend (Friday 5-9 and Saturday/Sunday 9-5pm.) It's a course to learn how to ride all types of motor bikes. Then he's gonna take his learners (GREAT!) hahaha I just don't think a man with a dangerous job needs a dangerous hobby. But I'm not going to stop him from something he is really adamant and passionate about doing! Hopefully he'll look like this...

And we'll look like this...

We love love love Sons of Anarchy!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHH it's SO good!

T Dot

Wondering where I've been? Life has been a little nuts lately, last week I had a business trip in Toronto. Hubby was off so I brought him along for the ride. It made business so much better. After my meetings were done for the day we'd explore Toronto. The first day we enjoyed drinks at Milestone's patio which over looks Dundas Square! So cool!

Dundas Square is a mini Time Square! And y'all know my love for the big apple!

Of course there was WAY too much shopping involved in this trip... staying so close to Dundas Square can only equal trouble and a credit card bill I will run from...

That's me all ready for dinner and the Jay's game!

We went to a pub near the sky dome! It had crazy lighting, all empty bottles! This picture doesn't exactly capture the cool factor.

Looky looky, someone named their lounge after me!

We picked up tickets from a scalper (shhh don't tell the POlice ;) we got the first row above the Sox Dug out! #verycool

They had these gals turning tricks on top of the dug out! Ok ok, they were actually just throwing out T-shirts! #Sweetjob!

My biggest highlight of the game was laughing at the pigeon toes... ya I'm a real avid sports fan!

All in all it was a successful business trip and fun little get away for Hubby and I!

Bye Bye Long & Lucsious, Hello Short & Sweet

I have been contemplating chopping the long locks for MONTHS now... really almost years if I'm being honest. I was growing my hair as long as possible for my wedding and then I wanted to CHOP it. Well 9 months later and I finally found the guts to do it!

Here is my inspiration....

Then I realized I wasn't blond... I must subconsciously wish I was?

So I found these brunette babes with the "medium" bobs.  I say "medium" because that's what google says, but I say that are SHORT! compared to what I had this is definitely short...

I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Chelsea Kane's hair... so I threw this picture in the mix. Which of course my hair dresser was quick to tell me I could never have hair like that. I bet you think it's cause I'm not blond? No that wasn't it, my hair is TOO thick for a cut like this...

Okay are you sick of ALL the inspirational shots yet? I am... so here's the final product. Keep in mind this was just a quick snap on my phone!

Long Time

It's been a long time I know I know! Life has been NUTS!

In the meantime my baby Bobo turned 3 on April 21, 2011! And Rocky is turning 3 on May 24, 2011! Happy Birthday to my fur babies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also finished a book I had been reading for probably 6 months... it was good but clearly it was one that I could put down and forget about for months on end.  It was called "Mercy" by Jodi Picoult

I love Jodi Picoult's books! She has a really amazing way of story telling.  She captures each characters perspective which really gives you a full understanding of the situation.  This one was just a bit tough to get into and I'm still not sure that I really liked the ending.

I'm now reading Emily Griffen's newest novel "Heart of the Matter"

This is another author I just love! She wrote the books "Something Borrowed" and "Something Blue" and I FLEW through those two books.  Speaking of "Something Borrowed" the movie comes out this Friday and I JUST CAN NOT WAIT to see it with biffy Kelly and Brit!!

So since its been so long you are getting an extra long play by play!!!

My weekend went like this:
Friday – I had that training seminar with a final exam - who does that?? Actually it was fine! Our condo that we rent near the University came up for rent for September 1 so we showed the condo to two different sets of students.  Ran errands, went for supper (at Earls yummm) and then went to the Boon’s for our volleyball wind up! It was lots of fun! We made awards for each player...
Saturday – we just bummed around mostly, and then went over to the Bradshaw’s for dinner and a movie: Casino Jack - but I fell asleep! :(
Sunday – we showed the condo to the third person and then I went by a girlfriend's place to show her some Stella & Dot Jewels! She’s placing a BIG order (buying all her bridesmaids bracelets and earrings!!!) J Britt (my brother in law's girlfriend) popped by too and her belly is getting so big!! She looks super cute!!! Then hub and I just bummed around more! Lol kind of a lazy weekend at times but not at other times! Hahaha we chose the new tenant for the condo too which is nice to have that done with!! It’s a young couple starting their first year of university and they are SOOOOOOOOOOOO cute!
My week is kind of busy but not crazy….
Today – gym at noon, no plans tonight – Hub is off today, so we'll probably go look at some vehicles.  He is now into "flipping cars" like flipping houses but cars... so far he sold his explorer (which he just bought about 2 months ago after selling his truck), bought another truck, sold the truck today and is now vehicle less again…. Hahahaha………………………….. K he is looking at two other trucks today.
Tuesday – gym at noon, bridal meeting after work, then probably bake some cupcakes for the styled engagement shoot we are doing next Saturday for the couple winners... it's going to be AMAZING!
Wednesday – lunch with two girls from work, another bridal meeting after work, then church – this woman at church has been harassing me for a photo with the new RCIA group… lol
Thursday – out of the office part of the day for the RCA spring meeting, no plans at night YET
Friday – out of the office most of the day for a meeting with a developer!  Then dinner and a movie (SOMETHING BORROWED) with Kel + Brit!! J
Saturday – Our niece Jordyn’s 4th birthday party;  Britt and Justin’s Engagement Party!!!!!!!
Sunday – Mother’s day/pack for Toronto!
Monday May9th - Friday May13th - TORONTO on business but Hubby is coming too!!!!
