Yoga and beyond

So I cheated my own rule of going to the gym until my pass expires (Monday) and hopped on the Yoga band wagon. I went at lunch yesterday to Ashtanga and to my delight they were offering the 12 days of Christmas special where I saved over $50 off my 3 month membership! Yoga 1, Gym 0. It was a bit of a rough class since I have only done one hot yoga class over the past 12 months. I excitedly awaited the pain I would experience when I woke up this morning. I was right, my hammys and shoulders are sooore! :) Is it weird that I enjoy the feeling of being sore? I just love it because I know that I've worked hard for it and it must mean something like total body transformation into something like this...

Maybe someday this will be me... one can dream!

So I didn't give a weekly play by play... and there's been A LOT going on to catch up on. Saturday one of my bridesmaids and good friend Karlene got engaged! Her fiancee and father of her two children FINALLY popped the question after 9 years of dating! lol She slept in late on Saturday morning (we went to a high school rendition of Beauty and the Beast the night before - AMAZING!) as she was checking her phone she noticed this picture was her background display pic...

As she turned the corner there he was, same spot as the picture, down on one knee! AWWWE! Karlene is not the girly girl type to swoon over diamonds and absolutely HATES attention.  But I think Colin picked the perfect ring for her.

Hubby and I went for lunch with my family to celebrate our birthdays and then it was off for a GNO dinner party, that's when we got another phone call from a friend who was out of town at her company Christmas party.  GUESS WHAT? She also got engaged! Another sweet story - she was getting ready for the party, doing up her necklace when her fiancee asked if she needed a hand doing it up. She said sure and he asked if she'd be wearing any other jewelery that night. She said nope, this is it. And then he got down on one knee! AWWE! Her ring is beautiful, round diamond with a diamond band and these two little canary diamonds tucked away under the round centre stone! Very unique!

Sunday was a family day filled with church, brunch, Christmas shopping and naps!

Monday I did this insane photo shoot that was not even cute in the least but I will share a photo once I get them back... it's too funny not to really.

Tuesday: Hubby and I went to Earls for dinner with our cop couple friend TJ & Neysa who are expecting a baby in May!!!

Wednesday: Hubby and I went to dinner at the Head coach's house for a "Coach's Dinner" aka Family dinner plus us. hahaha The other two assistant coaches are his sons! It was an AMAZING meal! To DIE FOR! And then we popped by our friends Lindsay and Kyle's informal engagement celebration for a celebratory drink!

Thursday: we have massages after work (desperately needed) and then more double date plans with our friends Lance and Jenna (Groomsmen and Bridesmaid that fell in love at our wedding!!!!!!!!!!!) they move here and into their place today!

Friday: My work Christmas party!

Saturday: ANOTHER double date with Kelly and Colin and then off to our brother's Ugly Christmas Sweater Party!!!

Sunday: Family Christmas Celebration all day, Hubby's work Christmas party at night!

That's one JAM PACKED week/weekend of parties and double dates! Loveeee this time of year!
