Whole Lotta Crazy

I don't know what it is about Polygamists that has me so intrigued, but I think it has to do with the completely different life style they lead. I'm interested to know how they live and how they share their time and HOW they can share their man. I think ultimately I like all the drama that comes with it. Sister Wives season 2 has been unreal so far... we found out that Jenelle's (Sister Wife #2) mom married Kody's dad (she is also Sister Wife #2) just after Jenelle married Kody.

Jenelle's Mom (Kody's Mother in law/Sister Mom?)  "What did I get myself into?"
In Season 1 we learnt that Jenelle had originally married Meri's brother...so they were sisters in law. The marriage didn't last so Meri brought Jenelle in as the 2nd sister wife... they went from sister in law to sister wives. Confused yet? And polygis say they aren't a big incestuous family... come on! The proof is in the pudding!!!

I respect this family though, as much as I disagree with the life style and even though I could NEVER comprehend how you could share your husband, I respect the fact that 1. they have chosen this life style (what I mean is it wasn't forced upon them...before this show and Big Love I had the preconceived notion that polygamists were cults - all young children FORCED to marry dirty old men, I know that still exists but at least this family has chosen this life for themselves) 2. they love each other and 3. they make it work for them. It also makes for entertaining TV. So thank you Brown family for opening up your homes to us. Sunday night wouldn't be the same without you.

I still think there should be brother husbands... who ever finds the first family willing to open up about their brother husbands and make a show about them will make millions... maybe I should start that show? lol

No I didn't mean I want more husbands, one is PLENTY for me! :) That'd be a whole lotta crazy!!

Speaking of crazy..how about Virgin Mobile's new ads? I think they are pretty funny!

Backwards Working...

This weekend was action packed... okay maybe action isn't the right word..busy but fun!

I'm gonna get crazy here and tell you about my weekend backwards...

Sunday
-slept in = missed church
-Jordyn got picked up and then we went to the church to volunteer for the "Engaged Encounter" session where we served coffee and desserts to engaged couples and then cleaned up afterwards
we hit hubby's favorite joint BP's! Then we watched a BAD movie "Never Let Me Go"

I say "Never See This Movie"

Why? It was slow and there was no climax and the ending SUCKED!

Then Hubby and I watched our new favorite show "Secret Millionaire"

If you haven't seen this show you, you should! It's on City TV. This show has us in tears EVERY time! It's brand new, last night's episode was only the fourth to air but it never fails that by the end we are both teary eyed and WISHING we were millionaires so that we could go on the show and give back to struggling communities. It is such a heart wretching, humbling show. Definitely a must see!

Saturday

-went for brunch with The Morrison's (lol Jenna and Lance)
-went to the Spring Home Show... who knew it was going to be a complete GONG show!? There was a line up out the door, it had to have been at least 50 people long! So we x-nayed that idea and stubbled upon a Paderno sale that travels accross Canada? Who knew, but I found a tea pot steeper that I have been searching for to steep my loose green tea that hubby bought me for Christmas from David's Tea.

-Then we went and looked at a few show homes, one being the Hospital Home Lottery valued at 1.1 million... let me tell you, it was UNREAL! Like if we were going to build a new house THAT is what we'd build! It was a two storey walk out basement (so essentially three stories) and almost 4000 sq ft.

We already know we are winning this house though, so get ready for a sweet house warming in June when we move in!

After our nice little Saturday afternoon we went and picked up our niece Jordyn and took her swimming! Then we had sushi and watched Tinker Bell, Toy Story 3

When this little monkey fell asleep

We watched The Next Three Days

It was AWESOME! IT had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. PLUS it had a great ending!

pretty nice little Saturday

Since my surgery didn't go through, the weekend plans have changed... we've recently completed Stage 2 of our basement reno's!
Stage 1 - Movie Room complete with 50" plasma and surround sound; sectional and a fish tank built in the wall (Hubby's "man cave" )
Stage 2 - Completion of the main area (dry wall, tape/mud, paint, ceiling, lighting, flooring and furnishing--> bar, living space, work space and PARTY space!) 3 flat screen TVs to complete the perfect MAN CAVE!

Tonight is the official opening of Kress' Bar (also known as Pistols Saloon).  The name came because a) Hubby is a cop and b) while we were in Mexico Hubby picked up a couple glass shaped pistols that act as a booze canister! I will take lots of pictures tonight and post on Monday I promise!

Then on Saturday we actually have a pretty nice little Saturday, we're going to go to Home Depot. Yeah, buy some wallpaper, maybe get some flooring, stuff like that. Maybe Bed, Bath, & Beyond, I don't know, I don't know if we'll have enough time. lol recognize that?

But actually we kind of do have a Saturday pretty similar to that planned... we are going to the Spring Home Show to check it out. This summer we decided we'd focus on our front yard. For some reason the previous owners were low budge and put in a gravel drive way... ya I know, I didn't even think that was an option when building a house. I guess its  the cheapskate option... regardless we are going to get that paved this year.  We are also going to extend the front flower bed - round and curve it and add tons of wild and bright flowers to spice up the front of our house. Our house is square in the front and then the two flower beds are square so it's just too much squareness going on! The flower bed closest to the neighbours house will be extended... like this...don't mind my child like drawing...

- White blob = extended rounded flower bed
- Black small squares - interlocking brick or paving stones side walk
- Big black square - paved drive way!

- Black hot mess = 8X10 Foot shed beside the house - hubby wants to build is the exact same as the house so it almost looks like an extension of the house. We desperately need the extra storage space so I can't wait for this shed to be built!

If there's time Saturday we're also going to check out a few show homes and go to Chapters! I am dying for Crazy Sexy Diet since B talks to highly of it!

Saturday night we are babysitting our neice Jordyn, Sunday we are going to church and then volunteering at the church for the afternoon (engaged encounter/NFP session).

It should be a good weekend!! :) I hope yours is FAB too!
