Year of the Rabbit or Year of the Baby?

It's 2011, and as you know from my post 2011 Chinese Zodiac Horoscopes - Year of the Rabbit; it's the year of the Rabbit. But I have to wonder, is 2011 actually the year of the baby? It seems every direction I turn there is a baby bump or pregnancy news EVERY where!

Last night was no different, as hubby and I settled in to catch up on our Wednesday night shows (Modern Family and Live to Dance - which were so rudely cut off by some guy named Obama.... lol jk I know who President Obama is) we were angry that we would be missing our fav shows.  Just then I heard a knock at the door. It was my brother in law, who was "in the area".  This might be normal for some, but I can't think of one time he has just "popped" by to say hi. Regardless we didn't think TOO much of it...we spent a few minutes chatting about random things our house, their house... until he dropped the big news. Him and his gf are expecting!!!!!!!

WOW! Didn't see that one coming! We both sat there shocked, didn't know WHAT to say at first he caught us so off guard. Then he showed us the ultrasound pictures on his phone and told us the due date is July 31, 2011. We are going to be Aunties and Uncles again!! We were expecting this kind of news from my sister in law.  You see she is 30 years old, has been married for 5 years, has an almost 4 year old daughter and has been TTC (trying to conceive) for more than a year.  My brother in law is 25 years old (his gf is 22) and marriage was a far off thing for the two of them. Not that it wasn't in the cards, it definitely was but not in any type of hurry.  So of course one of the first questions we asked was if they would be getting married (old school yes, but my in laws are old school Catholics and shot gun weddings are NOT unheard of or uncommon in the family.) My brother in law informed us that no, they were not in any hurry for marriage but that they would be looking for a bigger house as the house they are in now was a fixer up/flip to make some quick cash.

We have our first family dinner (since the big news) tonight, and now I am trying to decide if this will take any pressure off of us (now the last in the family to reproduce) or up the AUNTIE (no pun intended...lol okay maybe it was.)

It's just a reminder that life can't always be planned exactly how you want it to go.  So enjoy the ride, everything is meant to happen when it does.

Happy Friday!
